Bidrage med feedbackI chose this café from its reviews, because I was looking for a stop-off for a quick and reasonably priced breakfast. The service was very friendly and there seemed to be a stream of regular customers coming and going. I chose scrambled egg with mushrooms and my daughter just had toast. The bread was pretty ordinary sliced, but I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, and my scrambled egg was delicious. The coffee was also very nice. We finished up buying some lovely takeaway cakes too.
When in Hahndorf, trying the German cuisine is a must. We visited the original and authentic bakery, Kaffehaus Fine Foods, and indulged in a delicious German lunch from their menu. The service was excellent and the coffee, specifically Amanti Coffee, was top-notch. I always stop for a coffee whenever I see their sign. I also visited their establishment in Melbourne and was very impressed.
Being in Hahndorf I wanted a German feed but without the overpriced tag so this cafe fit the bill. There was plenty of seating available as we ordered at the counter and sat down. I had a basic sausage with sauerkraut which was yummy.
After being let down by several nearby "German" pubs and cafes for lunch, we decided to try this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. While there is still a German influence, it is more subtle here. This isn't your typical "German sausage and pretzel" spot, but if you're looking for good, honest food, this is the place to go.
This café and restaurant is a lovely spot with a wide selection of pastries and menu choices. While a bit on the expensive side, the delicious food and welcoming service make it worth it. There are plenty of seats and tables inside, with the option for outdoor seating as well. The atmosphere is wonderful and is perfect for both large and small groups. I highly recommend stopping by to enjoy a cup of coffee and a meal here.
