I don't know what's going on with this place. It was my first time trying it. I ordered online because their menu looked great ... and waited for a confirmation from the restaurant ... and waited. Then I tried to call the restaurant and the number didn't work. So I reached out to the payment processor ... and waited. I drove to the restaurant. Upon getting to their parking lot, I got an email from the payment processor saying that the restaurant had refunded my money (still haven't seen that) and they cancelled my order. I don't think this is common since they had a pretty good raiting, but it fell WAY short of meeting my expectations. Too bad. Menu looked good.
Been meaning to leave this review for a while, it 's been making me uncomfortable not to. This is not authentic Chinese food at all, and I 'm appalled that this place has 4.5 stars on average. Maybe just for the area? It is American Chinese food at best, and trust me Stop reading right here and consider another restaurant. I got 4 dishes and I threw everything but the soup away. Chicken may have been freshly cooked sometime before, but tasted (and looked) like over starched frozen meat, over sauced, and not crispy at all. Mapo Tofu was literally cut up firm tofu (NOT soft) could literally see the texture of the firm tofu dots... In spicy flavored water. On top of that, it was vegetarian and had NO flavor whatsoever. The White Rice was dry and grainy. It didn 't stick together at all. Fried Rice was more like oil with a side of leftovers. Not appetizing at all. Hot Sour soup was the only thing somewhat decent, but nothing special. I didn 't finish the meal, and threw away the leftovers. You can get fresher, more quality food (ingredients especially) at Panda Express. I 'm not kidding.
Great flavor, quality, and value. We ordered Pork Intestine Dry Pot, Fry Tofu, large Hot Sour Soup, and House Fried Rice. The dry pot and the tofu each came with a pint serving of steamed rice. We enjoyed all four dishes, me particularly the tofu because of its tomato-based sauce. All of these for $46. We will be back!
If getting fried rice instead of white rice is a $2.50 upcharge, it needs to be clearly displayed on your menu confirmed verbally by the cashier before the purchase has been made.$6 for a very small portion of the Shakalaka chicken appetizer is insane.Orange Chicken is supposed to be craggy crispy, not doughy soft.
