The Library Cafe - Farmingdale

My family and I absolutely adore the Library Cafe and we visit often for dinner. The food is exceptional and the service is consistently outstanding. We are grateful to the staff for always providing us with a wonderful experience. Rating: Food 5, Service 5, Atmosphere 5.

Last weekend, my mom and I had a mother-daughter lunch date at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and diverse menu offerings. Located in the heart of Farmingdale Long Island, it was easy to park and there were plenty of other stores nearby for some window shopping. The food was delicious and the server was very attentive. I highly recommend trying out this establishment for lunch or dinner. Service: Dine in.

The brunch was absolutely delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect 5-rating.

Came here because my best friend loves it. Waited 10 minutes for a table on a Friday afternoon. No biggie. We were seated promptly after the 10 minutes and given menus and drink order taken quickly. Received the drinks quickly and young blonde waitress said she’ll be back to take our order. Took her 15 minutes to come back. I honestly thought we were forgotten about for a second. We ordered 1 appetizer and 2 meals. One being a salad. Took about 20 minutes to get the appetizer and as we’re eating the appetizer the meals come out so we were swamped all at once with the food which is annoying even tho we requested the appetizer come out way in advance of the meals. The food was delicious! The waitress never came back to refill our drinks, ask us how the food was etc. Had empty glasses almost the entire time. Not even water. She was nowhere to be found. So that was annoying. She surfaces about a half hour later and asked if we wanted containers for the food which we did not. She just walks away. She disappears for another 20 minutes and we’re looking around for her because we want the check. She was standing in the back texting on her phone. Like seriously? Then she starts cleaning tables completely oblivious of us then finally notices we’re done and asked if we wanted dessert *eyeroll*. I said no we want the check. She comes with the check and I don’t even look at the bill. Just hand her my card because if I don’t it’ll take her another half hour to come back. We ended up being there a little over 2 hours which is absurd. So overall, really awful service especially for a time where it wasn’t prime time but delicious food.

Waited at the door for 5 minutes before a waitress welcomed us. She said she will be right with us and walked to a table where a family had a dog and dropped down to the floor to pet it. Another 2-3 minutes go by and another waiter walks past us not even seeing if we were being helped or needed a table. After waiting around for almost 15 minutes we left to go elsewhere. Very disappointed that 2 waiters walked passed us not even acknowledging us or letting us know if there was a wait. Especially when one goes to lay on the floor with a dog.
