Roger Rabbit's Diner - Espanola

Small family owned restaurant businesses definitely need your support during this COVID-19 pandemic. Roger Rabbit has been in business around 10 years now; my parents retired and sold many of their restaurant appliances for this startup. It's a tough service industry to be in but hats off this diner for serving great food and keeping customers satisfied.

Yelp said it opened at 6, we got there at 07:48 and still not open. Sign said open at 8, so we waited until nearly 8:20. No answer to knocking or phoning, no sign on the door saying they were away, nothing. Really tried everything to get in there as there's not much choice around. Ended up having to go to McDonald's sorely disappointed.

Well worth the 3 k detour off of 17. Food was fabulous. Homeade bread,pemeal bacon and bologna. Go early cause you will wait.not because they are slow ....they are that busy.

A couple of weeks ago my partner and I were doing the long drive from Thunder Bay to Toronto over the course of two days, determined to not stop at Tim Horton 's or equivalent for the whole drive. We stocked up on car snacks, had dinner at a friends, breakfast from a local bakery in Sault Ste. Marie on the recommendation of a friend, and lunch at this place, which I found c/o the Yelp app. The joy of driving three minutes off the Trans Canada highway over the river into town and to this place, instead of settling for a boring chain, is one I can still feel. It was exactly the kind of thing we wanted. A small town diner with all your classic diner options, plus a couple great additions. My partner opted for the hot turkey sandwich, and I got The Cure , which was just the beautiful delicious mess I hoped it would be. A pile of tater tots, covered in shredded cheese, diced green onion, topped with two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and Franks. YES. My only issue with this place is that it was my turn to drive after we ate here and I was so sleepy from the meal that I was stressed about falling asleep. Yes, the coffee is whatever and the mashed potatoes were probably from powder, but honestly, thats part of the whole thing and I was into it. And besides, powdered mashed potatoes can be great sometimes don 't me.

Everything was wonderful and homemade cooked to order. Raisin toast is an option! You won't be disappointed
