Bidrage med feedbackThe food is very good. Breakfast and quiche are my favorite. Excellent cakes and pastries! You have a tented area to eat out now. I'm mentioning this because some people are just gonna eat outside since Covid.
I bought two turkey dinners and two chicken pancakes. Almost $90 is rising from last year. The pots lacked the amount and size of the peral onions I used. Less vegetables just didn't taste like that. The same with the turkey memories. Missed something and I won't be back for these things.
I've been a customer for 30 years. It used to be a great pastry. Their pastries were in decline before they were for Kovid, but still decent. After they were reopened, I almost went completely. It's so badly liked that I tend to drive to Berkeley to go somewhere instead of going 100 yards to get to Fat Apples. Their response to Kovid was to reduce costs by reducing options, reducing some of the pastries, and skipping them to ingredients. They also increased prices. You can now find some of the smallest medium scenarios at some of the highest prices. Her oatmeal cranberry shear went from a beautiful rich texture to dry and not describe. Their cookies also went from rich and moist to crack and tasting largely of flour. And a few examples. I really hope the management is turning everything, but I think they're on loaned time. They do not seem to understand that this is a premium market that is largely driven by quality.
Since the reopening of the menu is reduced and some of my favorites like the onion rings are no longer offered. Service quality also seems to have dipped. Another decent place for food, but what happened with the quality service in America you can't find it anywhere.
I used to go regularly to both FA branches, and liked them a lot. Then I didn't go for quite awhile (can you say COVID? On October the first, of this year, I and 3 friends went to the Fairmont branch for breakfast. Sadly we were all disappointed. First, we didn't like having to stand in line AFTER we found a table and seated ourselves, in order to place our orders. Second, no free refills for those of us who'd ordered coffee. Yes the paper cups they served the coffee in were tall, but why paper in the first place if we were dining in? Soon after standing in line to place our orders at the counter and placing our orders one by one, and then walking back to our table, our food was served to us by a friendly, smiling waitress and it tasted as good as ever, so the story had a happy ending. Nonetheless, we agreed, unanimously never to return.
