Bidrage med feedbackWe love Kissing Tree so much! My friend and I go to tons of wineries, all over central Texas. We’ve never felt more at home and welcome than we do at Kissing Tree. We live in Austin, and drive an hour and 20 mins one way, just to go to Kissing Tree. Chris, Crystal, and the whole Kissing Tree family have become like a second family to us. Plus that wine? The Sangiovese and Ruby Red are to die for!!!! Thanks, Kissing Tree!
So after driving through Bruceville-Eddy twice while visiting relatives, the second time which was my birthday, I asked my husband to go inside and surprise me with a bottle of red wine, his choice. He said the little winery is a nice place with friendly folks who helped him with his selection. On our drive back to Cypress, he read some reviews, several good but some mentions of a vinegar taste. I was optimistic though and looking forward to enjoying my birthday wine once we got home. Upon opening, I noticed the white cork, both ends, but I was still optimistic. I let the wine breathe, still optimistic, but when I took my first taste I tasted the vinegary taste some others had mentioned. Still optimistic thinking maybe the second taste or third would be better, unfortunately it was not. I was terribly disappointed in the taste along with the fact that I had asked my husband to stop and buy a bottle for my birthday and he kindly did. He isn’t a wine drinker and we had our dog in the car or else I would have gone in for a tasting and opted for a different bottle or blend. Lesson learned, read reviews first and tastings can make or break the sale. Unfortunately, it went down the drain.
Celebrated at the new location from the outside didn't look like much but with the tour and the 4 course meal we were amazingly surprised great relaxed ambience. Krystal (sommelier) and Chris (cook) were outstanding! Every dish was a mouthwatering tasting masterpiece of flavor.
This place is closed permanently from what I understand. it was a nice little place I am sad to see it's gone
My favorite is their Sangiovese but they have great wines for all tastes. The tasting room is cozy and cute but the people! The customers are primarily from the area and are warm and welcoming. The staff treats you like family who loves you. We enjoyed their 3 course wine dinner last night with entertainment by John Cobb, and Elvis impersonator. The place was sold out and everyone had so much fun and the food was delicious! Do yourself a favor and check it out the next time you are between Waco and Austin. You won't be sorry you did
