Crown Inn - East Staffordshire

This restaurant in the heart of Yoxall is beautifully decorated. They offer a wide selection of food and drinks. We tried the salmon, prawn linguine, and fish and chips, all of which were delicious. The desserts, including apple pie and cheesecake, were also fantastic. The portions were generous and the overall dining experience was great.

I had been eager to visit this restaurant for some time due to the positive reviews. The pub has been nicely renovated and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the food did not live up to our expectations. The Albondigas starter was tasty, but the sharing Camembert starter was lukewarm and it was clear that a ripe one had not been used as it did not melt. We expressed our disappointment to the staff. As for main courses, one person in our group had the delicious salmon, while the venison pies were decent and the king prawn linguini was lukewarm. We once again shared our disappointment with the staff, as we believe honest feedback is important for the kitchen. They offered to replace the pasta, but we declined as it would have meant eating separately from the rest of the group and it was not as enjoyable as we had hoped. The restaurant seemed quiet for a Saturday evening, and we regretted not opting for Sunday lunch, as that is when the good reviews seem to come from. Would we come back? I don't think so, but I hope we just caught them on an off day.

The food at this restaurant is beautiful, with generous portions that are home-cooked. The decor is lovely, and there is a nice beer garden. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Had an amazing afternoon tea in June and visited again on Sunday , Sunday lunch was very nice , staff are all lovely and helpful, even got a doggy bag !
