What an experience! They are so nice and put so much thought into the process. The chef made all the plates (and I suspect lots of the decor too). You get to have a variety of Japanese food. The flavors are so delicate. Def worth the wait and is a gem!
Just wonderful. I’ve been to several kaiseki restaurants in NYC and Tokyo and this one compares favorably. The wagashi was maybe the best I’ve tasted. Go for the sake pairing, it’s worth it. Service is impeccable. Wonderful NC treasure.
Amazing dining experience with first-rate service in a tranquil environment. I would rate it A+ for following suggested covid protocols. We had an 8 course meal, authentic sake, dessert and received a small gift upon exiting. It's expensive, but worth every dollar. If you are unfamiliar with aspects of Japanese fine dining cuisine e.g. raw fish, squid, sushi etc this is perhaps not the best place for you to be adventurous. Again, it's expensive. To note, other items and proteins will be served such as diverse groupings of vegetables, shrimp, scallops, chicken, etc.
One of the most interesting and unique dining experiences we've ever had. One of the most expensive as well, but considering they only seat 2 tables a night, it's not unreasonable. We loved that the chef made all of the dishware we ate off of. And his wife provided incredible service. Not something we can afford to do regularly but we'd love to try it again sometime.
