Duke's Brew Pub Ale House - Dodgeville

We found this spot while camping nearby at Governor Dodge State Park. It's a nice local pub/bar, with several interesting beers on tap. Although the only food that they have is frozen pizza, the proprietor offered us the opportunity to order carryout from the Corrallejo Mexican Grill (it's just down the hallway from his restrooms in the same building) and then enjoy it in his establishment. He said that he no longer offered food as he was leasing his kitchen out to the restaurant. The Mexican restaurant recently opened and had a long wait list, so this was a perfect option. I think that Dukes is more than just your typical local corner tap with a lot of potential for a good time and interesting conversations. We really enjoyed our time there!

This is an excellent spot for locals to relax and enjoy themselves!

Great spot for a fresh cold beer! Stopped in for a cocktail and an appetizer. Both were very good, friendly staff and very clean.

On 2-27-2019, the bar had a nice and unique ambiance. However, the selection of drinks and food was limited. The bartender was the worst part of the experience. She had a major attitude from the beginning, and when I asked for a simple drink recommendation, she was condescending and unhelpful. It seemed like asking for drinks they didn't have upset her, as she sarcastically asked if we had ever been in a bar before. We quickly got a drink and left, solely because of the rude bartender. We will not be returning to this establishment.
