Bidrage med feedbackWe 're staying at the KOA right behind this restaurant so decided to stop in for a quick breakfast before going to Devil 's Tower. There were only 5 tables occupied when we arrived. It 's seat yourself and a waitress appeared quickly with menus and took drink order. She came back in about 5 minutes to take our food order, hubby had the pancake platter, I had the French toast platter. We waited a good 30 minutes for our food which seems crazy since by now only 4 tables were full and they were already eating. The food was pretty good. Hubby liked his pancakes and he 's a pancake snob, my French toast was good. The scrambled eggs were cooked well and appeared to be 'real eggs ' not from a carton. The bacon was crispy. So 4 stars for food, 2 stars for really slow service, average of 3.
Overpriced. Gas-stationy food. Kids mac-n-cheese comes room temperature. I guess it's conveniently placed next to Devils Tower. Just pack a lunch or drive the 8 miles to the next restraunt!
I have to admit I wasn't expecting much but we were starving after leaving Devil's Tower and driving from South Dakota in the morning so we decided to stop here and get something to eat before heading on to Colorado for the evening. This Café is attached to a shop that sells tons of touristy items related to Devil's Tower as well as some snacks, drinks, sundries like lightbulbs, tampons, toothpaste, etc. You get the idea. It's nestled in the back corner and is a cozy small town diner sort of place. Our waitress was young, had her ringer on and was getting numerous texts throughout our meal as she walked around and cleaned up. She wasn't especially rude but she also wasn't especially nice or polite either. She was efficient and seemed to be irritated at our presence at the table when she had to refill the napkin dispenser and ketchup bottle. I ordered a small side salad with extra veggies and the BLT sandwich with fries. The side salad was actually pretty good and included tomatoes, carrots, radishes, cucumber, etc. The side of balsamic was good also. The BLT was HUGE in portion and had probably like 6 7 large and well cooked slices of bacon on it as well as fresh tomato, lettuce and mayo (duh, it was a BLT) and perfectly toasted bread. I was very happy it was delicious and I devoured it in no time. The fries were small shoestring style and had been overcooked and were a little hard. Otherwise the meal was very good for what it was cheap and fast.
This place had great service, but eating was not ingenious. it was definitiw frozen eating heated. the environment was sweet, but not super nice. it is a wild west diner. That's what I had was good, but nothing I couldn't just do after home. the pommes were nothing special, which was disappointed. would not recommend this place, but there are not many possibilities in this area.
We were on the camping site, so we had breakfast here. the pancakes were okay, but not great. the hash brown were frozen and fried sorts prepared. my daughter said the French toast tasted bad. nothing spectacular but warm eating.
