Fuji Of Japan - Darien

I really can't say enough bad things about this place. It's old, run down, dirty, smelly and the hibachi isn't even yummy. The whole place needs a complete gut renovation or demolition. It's too bad because it's a good location and I love hibachi! The server was nice though but only took our order and we never saw him again- had to ask the hostess for the check.

Absolutely delicious food, portions were generous, and the meal was delicious! I got steak and shrimp hibachi: the shrimp was fresh, steak was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender, and the veggies that came with it were filled with flavor. I also got chicken and vegetable tempura and those were equally as amazing. The sides that came with my meal were not lacking either, I can't remember the last time I had a meal so unbelievably good. Thank you so much, you are my new go to spot!

The cooktop was dirty even after the chef cleaned it. We ordered a vegetarian meal explained it was for a vegetarian and instead of cooking that meal first, as the manager explained later should have been done, the chef cooked it with the meats using the same utensils. The food was ok veggies actually were tasty and my salmon was also good, but it is quite overpriced for the level of quality. I won 't go here again.

The food here is very inconsistent. I don 't eat sushi, so when we order takeout from here I usually go with the Sesame Chicken (a must try according to their menu). Last weekend when I ordered it, it was the best food I had had from there but last night 's was terrible (chewy, overcooked, little meat, and an off the mark sauce). Have been ordering from here for the last 2-3 years and have noticed this fluctuation...
