Kathleen's Art Cafe - Dallas

Plano has a no smoking ordinance for all restaurants. On 1/7/05 at 6:30 pm my guest (an out of town cousin) and I smelled strong odor of cigarette smoke while dining. We looked to see people at the bar smoking so we moved to the back of the restaurant. Since the smell was overpowering there also we asked for the manager who replied rather rudely stating that he had told the smokers to go outside, but he wasn't going to hold there hand. He went on to claim that he was not some kind of a--hole that calls the police on people. On our way out we saw him chatting and laughing with two men smoking by the bar. The way he talked to us was rude and stunning to say the least. I will never go there again.

It took us over an hour and a half to get our food from the time we ordered. The manager finally brought our food to our table and slammed the plates onto our table. Not a single smile or an apology. One of our dishes called for linguini with salmon to our surprise, we found exactly three pieces of chicken mixed in with what tasted like pasta roni. This horrible meal costs us over 30 dollars and this was on a half off Sunday! Will never even dream of dining there ever again. Also would like to mention that the friend who ordered the linguini with salmon/chicken got food poisoning later that night.

This was a great Valentine's date for my husband and I. The food was excellent, and the staff was very attentive.
