Desert Racer - Dallas

Our waitress Hannah was really good to make sure that we made it our next engagement at the time, even if there were several big parties. I love Desert Racer being able to record large groups that are hard to find in Dallas! The food is good and varied and we had the frozen palomas. One thing they need to do is better to identify the hostess stand, it hides behind a truck in the back and several partied came like we came to hostess help, which looks like the front bar.

Waitress was super nice and food was great. a really cute place with a lot of photo opportunities.

The place looks really cool and is big with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Food was good but not mind blowing. They have interesting and decent options if you’re health conscious. Drink menu was not bad either. Lots of local beers and several frozen drinks. To each their own, but I didn’t like the music and it was LOUD. We still had fun but can’t say if we’ll be back.

We had a visitor from the north. Here during the icestorm; wanted to have a last dinner and concert. Remembering Desert Racer Pre-Covid vibrating and fun would be the perfect choice. Wow, what happened to Desert Racer? So sad. The decor or lack there was completely different. The bar, the empty hop. Was not knowledgeable or social at all. The food was decent. Restrooms super dirty. We are fans of all flavor restaurants, but last time to Desert Racer. By looking at things, that's what everyone else thinks.

This is a really cool place, especially if it is a beautiful day and you can sit on the terrace. The service was pretty bad. I don't really accuse our waiter, he had a big group that was there to watch football and wander around unorganized. They had a million miles an hour. What made it bad was not appropriate staff. We saw 4 other tables he cared for the same less than stellar service, while other tables were coming, ordered, eaten, paid their check, and we still tried to get our 2nd drink and lunch ordered after a little over an hour there. The food was good. Not great, but good. The mixture of flavors in the tacos was well made. Overall, well and we will probably return for the terrace and an opportunity to give this place the review that it probably deserves instead of one that was for service.
