Bidrage med feedbackI apologize in advance if there was a specific reason for this strange review. I was feeling hungry on Saturday and was recommended to try out this restaurant as the best place to have fish.
Just had a few days in cowes and had the most fantastic fish and chips ever over looking the bay ended up eating fish and chips for the three days service and food quality excellent
After seeing a sign on the street claiming to be voted number one, we decided to go up the stairs and give it a try. Unfortunately, our order took longer than expected, there was only outdoor seating on a windy and chilly day, and the fish ended up being too greasy to enjoy. We were very disappointed with our experience at Aussie Fish and Chips. Also, just a heads up - Americans prefer ketchup, not tomato sauce. Charging $.50 for a small package of ketchup is excessive.
Best way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon on the Island....fish and chips from The Big Fish eaten on the foreshore. Quality is excellent...especially the prawn dumplings.
Really good chips last night, even after travelling home in the car. Judging by previous reviews, the fish is not to everyone's liking, but we loved it. It was a nice thick fresh tasting fillet in a light tempura batter. A great alternative to the shops that serve a tiny piece of fish with more fat soaked batter than fish. With so many fish and chip shops on PI, it is good to find one where the owner is passionate about sourcing the best local ingredients and cooking them the best way possible. Well done!
