My sister and BIL offered to take me out for dinner as I was visiting from out of town (having moved from Central Ohio many years ago). I replied "something Japanese) when asked what I would like. They made a reservation at Akai Hana being familiar with this restaurant. I rarely give anything five stars, so consider 4 stars a compliment please. The food, an Udon bowl, was outstanding. Service was just a bit rushed, although admittedly I am a slow eater. Restaurant is located in what I would consider the rear of the venerable Kenny Center, in an area with several other Japanese businesses (bakery, grocer, and gift shop) a very nice collection of shops. Also the outdoor area is landscaped with lovely Japanese style gardens. It made for a pleasant afternoon. Recommended.
