Bidrage med feedbackMe and my wife ate here in the late afternoon. Not too busy. The service was good and the flavors were excellent. We had the pork belly ssamang for an appetizer. It was good but the pork belly was under seasoned, the dipping sauce was excellent and made up for the lack of seasoning. I had the green curry and my wife had the red curry, both where excellent with a great depth of flavors. The only complaint is there were way too many green beans in both entrees. We also had the fried chicken wings, they where nice and crispy, the dipping sauce was good, I thought it was a little heavy on the fish sauce. All and all a good experience.
I am on a search for the best Thai restaurant in Charlotte, and Hibiscus definitely ranks high on my list. High marks for friendly and fast service, on the weekday night that I chose. Relaxing and beautiful environment that was perfect to enjoy and recharge in after a long 10 hour day at work. I enjoyed the Cashew Stir-Fry (wish they put the authentic names on the menu), and the Thai Iced Tea was also very good. The spiciness scale only goes to 5, but if you ask nicely they might bring a tray of extra spices to your table to enjoy. This hidden little gem is much bigger than it appears from outside, and it is tucked away in the corner on the lower level, near the courtyard and fountains, accessible by either stairs or elevator. I would come back with friends, or on a date night, and enjoy this unique location again.
Came her for the top 25 new restaurant rating. It wasn’t very crowded for a Saturday night hmmm maybe not the hip spot it once was?. Service was great so extra stars for the waitresses. The food wasn’t seasoned enough for me. Had the veggie rice wrap and felt like they needed more herbs. The spring rolls were also very bland to the point that we only ate one. The dinner ginger plate with tofu wasn’t seasoned very well and the sauce was way to watered down. Tofu had no flavor. My husband pad Thai was very good though. food was fresh just needs more pep.
This was the first time we’ve been here. Finally, there’s somewhere you can get authentic Lao street food! The Lao sausage and sticky rice was my favorite. The side of sticky rice is hot and steamy. It’s served with a spicy Laotian sauce which is very delicious and does have a good kick. The beef meatballs weren’t as warm and hot. They seemed to be a little chewy but I’m not sure if that’s how they are supposed to be. The ambiance of the restaurant is great for a date. I loved the lychee martini. It was pretty strong as well! The waitress and bartender were very nice and answered all of our questions.
Hibiscus, we had inhibitions when we went there, but we started liking it as we stepped in. And the food was awesome, even though we had to wait for sometime to get seated for our group of 10 people. Couple from our group tried sushi here and loved it. As this was their first time trying sushi, they were anxious, but the sushi turned out to be good. However the red curry was a bit too sweet. Otherwise it was all good and we loved the experience.
