Dinn Ri - Carlow

Came here for lunch and sat outside which has a lovely atmosphere. There are a lot of gluten free sandwiches available and I went for the chicken and thyme which was tasty.

Popped into The Dinn Ri bar for a bit of lunch recently. I’ve been here many times before. Ordered the steak sandwich and I can safely say it’s was the best I’ve ever had. Cooked perfectly and perfectly presented. Nothing overly fancy but really nice. Service was slow and very few waiting staff around. Had to get my own knife and fork! Having said that the bar man and the lad who delivered the food were spot on.

We have been long term customers and always had great food and service here. Our last visit was not up to scratch. Waiting staff were very obliviously new , inexperienced and disinterested . I fully understand that this is a business that ultimately exists to make money but the current food pricing is not reflected in the quality or quantity of food being served. Hopefully the situation improves

Ordered pizza chips and wine, the wine I though was flat, staff replaced without question and the second was from a fresh bottle but turns out it’s not flat just poor wine. The chips were brought to the table 10-15 minutes before the rest of the order. Pizza pastry over oiled and very poor, good base shouldn’t have that much bend in it. The greater the bend the lesser the quality. The toppings on one were amazing but a little artistic flair failed on the other with the pizza divided into 4 with one topping per quarter. Is this new for pizza? Surely the point of the toppings is to enjoy the fusion of mixing the flavors. I want to like this establishment I really do but the last time we traveled we waited standing at the bar for over 20 minutes and not one member of staff approached us so we just left. The time before that our orders were all messed up. The staff are lovely, nice and very helpful and I hated giving feedback but this has been a repeated poor experience.

Staff are lovely. Great atmosphere. the house red wine cab sav) is not good quality and tastes very cheap. The cocktails are good.
