Bidrage med feedbackWanted to love it but I don't. The ambience is great and the fact that we happened to come when DJ Joey was spinning was amazing! The owner gave my son and I a weird vibe . She wasn't friendly or pleasant. She made us feel uncomfortable and kept staring at us. Our sushi took a long time to come out. Our waiter explained that there was a big order ahead of us but didn't offer us bread which would have tied us over for the wait. I had to get up and ask for it. Not a place where I feel the need to return to.

Slate Bistro and Bar a tantalizing mix of American dishes with sushi, beckoned us with its alluring photos and dizzying menu. With a heart that beats sushi, we thought this fusion affair would be a slam dunk. Reservations? Check. And though the hostess initially aimed to tuck us into the bar, we landed a snug booth in the main dining space. Kudos to our waitress not only did she pour out recommendations like a sommelier does wine, but she also slipped us into the happy hour specials even after the clock had ticked past. Appreciation levels? Sky high. Our culinary journey started with Korean barbecue, crispy cauliflower, sliders, tempura, and a blue cheese wedge salad. While the cauliflower had a rich taste, it missed that crispy mark we were hoping for. The tempura? A bit on the bland side. And the ranch, let's just say it wasn't a hit. Now, the cocktails those were a show. Beautifully presented, with a punch that didn't compromise on flavor. While the ambiance screamed chic and Instagram worthy, the sushi still remains an enigma. With many patrons diving into the sushi offerings, we might be tempted to return for that alone. However, with other sushi spots close to our hearts, it's a tough call. Notably, a lot of diners seemed to be on the sushi train, and while the sushi temptation lingers, our sushi lovin' hearts have their loyalties elsewhere. It was a tad loud, with families enjoying their evening, but nothing that hindered our chatter. In conclusion, would we return? For the ambiance and drinks, absolutely. For the food, the jury's still out.
