I can't remember everything we had in order, but it was thunfisch, yellowtail, albacore, bream, toro, scallops, bluefin crab, thunfisch with ponzu (not shown,) and lachs. service excellent. give them protocols terrible! they have removed 1.5 meters from couples next to me. ah! negative points about that. I'm sorry. tipp: they have to get the order. take them with when they have problems with covid
The restaurant is not sushi or japanese. it's a factory. sushi only rolls out of the kitchen. no sushi bar or so. restaurant is not cozy. the fish was qualij, so I give two stars. the tear? was hot. I never had sushi with hot or warm rice nowhere. it takes the taste away from the fish. the food came fast, but this is not cozy. expensive sushi not worth it.

I had the “Don’t Think. Just Eat” and it was quite an experience. The Edamame definitely whet the appetite, as did the Tuna Sashimi with ponzu and chives. All was flavorful, but the most outstanding were Toro, Kampachi (very sweet, mild flavor), pink lobster, Sea Bream with shiso (lovely mint), but also the lobster hand roll (truly a warming delight) followed by the savory eel. I paired mine with Nigori unfiltered Sake which was a star compliment. Final note, I did order an Uni and was really surprised how mild and sweet a flavor that was. Certainly better than I’ve had elsewhere. I’m celiac, and brought my own Tamari. If you don’t like sushi, or are expecting tempura, don’t come. This is artful dining and superb.
Loved it! If you like traditional sushi instead of big crazy rolls, then this is the place for you. There are multiple locations, and Calabasas is a very pleasant one with a wonderful atmosphere and super eager to please employees. I look forward to coming back!
