Bidrage med feedbackHave stayed many times at this motel in the Rainforest at Tolga, great comfortable rooms..we usually have a self contained unit which has large fridge, full stove, all crockery, cutlery, jug toaster. Very roomy, separate shower toilet off bedroom. We have had cooked meals from the Motel kitchen delivered to our room and also have dined in Snibbles Restaurant (which is the motel restaurant) each time we stay at this motel the food is fantastic. The Owners of this Motel and their staff are very very friendly nothing is too much trouble to them. If you are visiting The Atherton Tableland just west of Cairns we highly recommend staying at this Motel deliveredto our room also at
First, Atherton is not what you call a tourist destination, it is a lovely rural town that is small, quiet and the hub of the Atherton Tablelands farming community It is not spoiled for choice for hotel:motels, there are probably 4 or 5 within the town boundaries. rainforest Motor Inn is an older motel located in what is called th Tolga scrub located between Atherton and Tolga. It looks at the rainforest but is actually backing on to farmland. The place is clean and quiet but a bit dated. The hosts are very decent and nice people to deal with. If you have a reason to stay in Atherton then this might be the place for you, but you may also want to consider a stay in Yungaburra, about 15 minutes drive from Atherton, Yungaburra is located on one of the reaches of Lake Tunaroo and close to the Lake Barrine and Eacham crater lakes; is more set up for tourism; and has a wider choice of accommodation.
Hotel was ok, but smelt a bit musty and I found 2 dead cockroaches in the bathroom. Oh well, at least they were dead I guess! I really like Atherton as a town but this hotel definitely needs a bit of a facelift. Room service was ok, I got the crumbed fish with chips and salad. Fish seemed like it was store bought (definitely not fresh) as it was a perfect rectangular size, and yet the tartare sauce was fresh and delicious! I would have prefered to stay in Yungaburra as its hotels and motels are nicer decor and room service food is fresher.
