Bidrage med feedbackWhat happened to this restaurant?! It used to be my favorite place for delicious Afghani food. I ordered takeout, Aushak and Mantu pumpkin, but instead received lentils in a container with no dumpling wrap or yogurt sauce. The pumpkin Mantu had no yogurt sauce, just yogurt in a container. I will not be returning to this establishment. If they do not serve Aushak wrapped in dumplings, they should have informed me when I placed my order. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I 've been going to this location since 2010 but less so in the last few years since, moving closer to Columbia. I think it use to be under the Maiwand Kabob family-owned chain of restaurants (which are excellent), but not anymore hence the name change to Maiwand Grill . Today, we ordered chicken and kofta kabobs. Everything was really bad. 1. Really dry pieces of chicken and not your typical red-color tikka seasoning 2. Kofta was overcooked and dry 3. Rice didn 't have
The chicken and lamb were dry and overcooked. The spinach was overly spicy and watery. The eggplant lacked peppers, tomatoes, and garlic sauce. The rice portion was very small for an Afghan restaurant. The bread was acceptable. The most disappointing aspect of the meal was the unpleasant "salad"- the lettuce was brown and the dressing seemed to be yogurt-based. The overall experience was inconsistent and underwhelming.
My family and I had a disappointing experience at Maiwand Grill. We ordered takeout and noticed that our order was the same as an online order that had been waiting for pickup on the counter. Despite being told that the completed order was for another customer, we were promised that a new batch of food would be prepared for us. We waited in the seating area for over 30 minutes for our food, only to see the old order (which was never picked up) being served to us.
Great food and friendly service. Although the salad is weak, proportion sizes were good and meat seasoning were flavorful. Would recommend!
