But as senior citizens, we usually go from their selection of a la carte dinners which offer a choice of chicken, beef, salmon or vegetarian options. To night we chose the Salmon Teriyaki Bento boxes and our son a beef bento box. They come with a Miso soup, Salad (mostly lettuce, but fresh and crisp) and the box. The Salmon comes with 2 filets of salmon, two tempura shriimp, tempura vegetables, rice, and 3 slices of raw salmon and 6 sushi rice rolls with avocado and fish. A very filling meal for $15.50! They offer the same as just meals without the sushi and tempura, but a good portion of stir fried vegetables for a lower price per plate. They also come with a choice of desert included. All in all, a good value dinner for a night out.
When I'm not mastering my art form of making deals, big deals, I'm busy making a big deal of my caloric intake by bulking. Like any intelligent consumer at an AYCE, I consume copious amounts from the menu; be it sashimi, mushrooms, shrimp, hand rolls, mushrooms, miso, ice cream or mushrooms, I make sure to cover all five food groups for a balanced diet. The quality of the dishes is great and if you hunger for value, Sushi Asano is more than willing to provide on their dime. In fact, after sending the first of many orders, the server nervously approached my table with apprehension, likely with the philosophical query "can a single man rise to this insurmountable challenge?". Surmount I did, as I inhaled my own body weight in sushi to the shock, awe, and evidently disgust of the server that underestimated me. Had I not been occupied slamming away at the button for more mushrooms, I would have physically stood up to show the server the difference in class and height between us. As another server whisked away our plates, she dropped a platter previously containing mushrooms with garlic sauce, splattering it everywhere. However, I did not fault her service there. Only when she made her extreme social anxiety clear by attempting to humor my fellow bulking buddies and I while fumbling to clean did the disappointment truly set in.Despite the discrimination I received for eating enough to feed a small African country, I highly recommend Sushi Asano. Service aside, the quality of the food for the value is superb. Even while clearing the plates in mere seconds, the plating and presentation is to be appreciated as well. If you're going to dine at the Sushi Asano, make sure you stand tall and especially taller than the 4' pile of plates you'll leave behind.
I was on my own & needed an early dinner so went to Sushi Asano..I had a pint of Sapporo & then the Senior dinner. You order from an i-pad which has pictures of all the menu items which I found very helpful. I went through the menu & placed my order & very quickly dishes started to arrive. Everything I ordered was fresh & tasty & when I finished everything, I only had room for green tea ice cream.
The server started by accusing us of being manlets. Standing tall at 4'7" this chimp thought it wise to accuse us of not being able to finish our food. Offended and victimized, we ante'd up and made a second order. He knew we had risen to the challenge, and that he couldn't rise to our stature. After devouring the second round, he was left with no foot to stand on, infact only 4 feet of development. As we left we looked down at his underdeveloped endowment. The food was immaculate.
Ordered take out, diamond sushi which was 16 pieces of assorted sushi. Cali roll was mushy and gross, sushi pieces were about half of normal size- deceptive but I guess made sense for the price. Yakitori chicken was a bit under cooked but tasty. They provide sushi a basic green salad and miso soup for $13.99 so overall the price was good. Yakitori was $5 ok, small as well.
