royal tandoor - Burlington

I was craving Indian Food while my spouse way away and thoughts I'd give Royal Tandoor a try. The Samosas were good, but that's about it. The Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, and Vegetable Biryani were all bland and tasteless. While I did ask for mild vs. hot, I wasn't expecting to get a completely flavourless meal. I've tried a few other Indian Restaurants in Burlington and this one was by far my least favourite. I won't be be back.

Finding Indian Food anywhere in Canada is easy, right? Finding great Indian Food in in Burlingon Ontario is a bit more problematical especially if you want fresh fresh food with fast service. The Royal tandoor is like so many great places, hard to find the first time but never to be forgotten. This location is located in a strip mall surrounded by an electric scooter store on one side and a car rental agency on the other. Like I said; hard to find but well worth the search. Upon entering this establishment, the first thing you notice is cleanliness of the decor and while the walls are not dripping with Indian decorations, what is there is tasteful and helps with the ambiance.But what of the food? Believe me, the good becomes better. The selection is good to great and there are all of the dishes you expect from their extensive menu. There were four of us for dinner last night and there was not a single issue with every single item.We all started with the Vegetarian Samosas and were amazed at the light pastry and the crispiness. The filling was just right and served with a lovely deep red spicy sauce on the side. Our entrees were soon there, piping hot, fresh and cooked to our individual tolerance for heat. Butter Chicken, Korma and Beef Biryani all arrived with Rice and Naan bread, all freshly made with a lovely Yogurt sauce on the side. We were completely satisfied with portion sizes and presentation. This was my second visit and I was as satisfied just as much as the first visit. They are open seven days a week til 10PM and will be there again.Two things in passing, one good one indifferent, they do not serve alcohol of any kind but to be honest, we did not miss it. The other thing is they deliver, have take out and catering as well. Cant wait to make my taste buds smile again with the sensational flavors of this wonderful place

Purchased a truck from the second hand car dealer in the same plaza , so we had to eat.Albert our son and I had the lamb vindaloo (hot) and Susan had fish.Rice and Nan was ordered.Great service, took a while to get food but because it was made from scratch!Great food, large portions, you can taste the ingredients individually as you eat.Brave, highly recommend! !!!
