Bidrage med feedbackOnly my second visit, but despite the richness of the map and the quality of the dishes, I am disappointed by the place: extremely noisy tables, tight, back door opened almost definitively, but especially by a mediocre service. all because of the prices that are not really given. There will be no third experience.
I have been a patron of the izakaya for over a decade, visiting 3 to 4 times a year. This restaurant never fails to impress, staying true to its Japanese roots and spirit. During lunch hours, the kitchen and waitstaff work diligently to serve those on their break or business lunch, with quick service and efficiency. In the evening, the atmosphere shifts to a more relaxed pace, allowing for a more leisurely dining experience. While there may be some waiting between dishes, we prefer to savor the unique atmosphere and take our time, rather than rushing through the meal. The izakaya stands out among other Japanese restaurants for its authenticity and charm, making it a favorite dining spot for us. It's important to come with an open mind and immerse yourself in the experience for a truly memorable evening.

In response to Greg's review on this restaurant in Charleroi: This restaurant actually offers two different set menus, one for lunch and one for dinner. For lunch, they have a menu of various options ranging from 10 to 15€, as well as a limited quantity lunch of the day for 12€ which is very generous in portions. Personally, I find the lunch of the day to be satisfying enough, even though I have a big appetite, as the portions are more than sufficient. For dinner, you can choose from set menus or create your own by selecting different dishes; I usually go for a set menu and add an extra dish, which are typically smaller than what one would find in a French restaurant. Those with a bigger appetite may need to order additional dishes. The pricing is a bit higher for the dinner menu, but cheap is not really a term I would use to describe a true Japanese restaurant. Overall, I think this restaurant is excellent, and it seems to be a popular opinion as it often gets fully booked in the evenings (so it's best to make a reservation) and there is usually a line of 5 to 6 people during lunchtime, so it's advisable to arrive a bit early.
This restaurant is a great find. They offer a variety of Japanese specialties as well as the classic European trio of sushi, maki, and sashimi. From noodles like udon, ramen, and soba to gyosa and tartare, there's something for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back! My tip: make sure to make a reservation in advance!
