Bidrage med feedbackAfter a redeye flight to Brussels, coffee was just what I needed. Exki looked interesting with shaded tables outside and a good crowd inside. It reminded me a bit of the Pret-A-Manger concept with coolers of sandwiches and drinks, adding a display of soups and fresh breads plus pastries and cakes. A simple process: queue up with your items, ring it up at the register where you'll get your coffee, and then find a seat. I managed to find one but the place was very packed and about ten minutes later, people were circling. Double espresso was excellent and definitely what I needed to get moving after not sleeping on the plane. The chocolate croissant was a little overdone and not much chocolate, but it was the right level of sweet.
Love this place. Cafeteria style service, but the food is excellent. I had a pasta w vegetables, rich tomato sauce. A mini wine bottle and a cherry cafoulis. It's a cool vibe, shared tables. You can take away too.
Yesss, Exki. I enjoy this little chain a lot. Their food always seems to be fresh and healthy and they're quick and no trouble to deal with normally. Plenty of space to relax and eat your meal or get out of the cold. We often enjoyed the soup and the rice wraps the most, but they have a great number of salad, sandwich, and juice options as well as some prepared hot food. Food is also pretty cheap in comparison to nearby shops outside McDonalds or other fast food chains, of course. Granted this is more or less a fast food chain itself. It is what it is, but it was nice to have options that weren't so heavy. Service was efficient and timely. This is a cafeteria style place so be prepared to grab a tray and all your desired food stuffs, head to the counter and pay, then seat yourself. Clean cut and quick.
The place has a cozy feeling to it. The products are fresh but slightly expensive. The croissant was crispy and fluffy, the sandwich wasn 't anything special, the cappuccino was 'meh ' okay, but the chocolate moelleux was a wonder (definitely try it if you love chocolate)!!
From the street, this place didn't look too special. In fact, we only ended up here because it was the only place open and serving coffee and food (that wasn't McDonald's next door at 9am on a bank holiday Monday. We came to kill time until our brunch spot opened, so ordered coffee and a pastry, and headed upstairs (this place is really quite spacious! . The upstairs area had softer chairs more suited to settling in, which was perfect as we had almost an hour to kill. The wifi was (of course free and fast and reliable. The big windows offered great views of the main street below, and that beautiful stock exchange building. The food is all pre made sandwiches with super tasty looking fresh baguette bread, pastas and salads. As well as smoothies, juices, soup and pastries. I ended up running in here later that day on our way to the train station. I grabbed a rocket and pasta salad thing with fresh parmesan and it was DELICIOUS. Super light and felt healthy after four days of beers, frites and waffles :
