Bidrage med feedbackI am reviewing the restaurant not for a wedding. We were in town last week and our Airbnb host recommended we come here for dinner. This summer they are doing picnic dinner (due to covid). You make a reservation over the phone, pick your meal from a few choices and pay so that you have little interaction with the staff. You can sit on the sand or on the beach. We chose the beach which was perfect for my son to run around. They put your meal on a little table and leave you a little garbage bin too. You are the only person to use that table for the night. It's really a social distancing dream. The waitress was attentive but didn't need to come around too often. It was BEAUTIFUL! I wish we lived closer to come back!
Interesting to read the other comments here, maybe they are just outdated, but I had my wedding here 6/1/19 and I can 't say ENOUGH good things about Sherie, her team, and our entire experience at Jimbos! The food was phenomenal, all of our (150) guests loved staying in the cabins (there are hotel style rooms for those less comfortable with this set up, that now have toiletries, too), and many people (ourselves included) left saying best wedding EVER! . As for the reviews mentioning no heat in the cabins, this is only true for ~10 of the cabins and the couple getting married has the choice of who to put where. We placed people who we knew wouldn 't have a problem with this in those cabins (definitely no kids or older adults) and it seems like this complaint should be directed to couple, not the venue. It isn 't a cheap wedding venue by any means but the service and quality that we received was worth every penny. THANK YOU!
Beautiful location , nightmarish customer service. Some cabins have no heat or hot water, and this was not disclosed to guests. With the temperature dropping to the 40s at night, they wouldn't accommodate families with young children or elderly people by moving them to open and available rooms that had heat, without trying to upcharge people. They also wouldn't accommodate disabled guests requests for closer cabin locations even when calling ahead. Staff was very rude.
You 're paying for the atmosphere here. The assumption is you 'll be so enthralled with being in the Adirondacks that you won 't mind paying out the wazoo. Yes, it 's lovely here, but if you had the same food and room anywhere else, you wouldn 't be impressed. We went to an event here, and truly did enjoy the views and the serving staff and bartenders in particular. The food was decent. The dining hall was nice in a we 're really a summer camp but if we candle-light everything it 'll feel elegant kind of way. The hotel room was spartan, lots of shellacked wood, small... and for $160 a night, it 'd be mighty white of them to give you a few basic toiletries. That we had a great time was due mostly to the occasion and family, and I 'd never want to tell family that I think they got taken, but truthfully, I think they did.
I just went to the wedding of my best friends daughter. The scenery was beautiful and the rooms in the lodge were very comfortable. Unfortunately, my arrival to Jimbo 's was greeted by the manager Sherry screaming from across the lawn at me Get off MY grass . My car was slightly parked at the edge of the grass which was apparently trying to be grown. A few cones were placed but no signs. The next day was the wedding, the bride assumed she was having a Pine covered alter which was not there. After she discussed this Sherry told her that she didn 't have it on the contract but it WAS definitely verbally discussed. The bride was told that she could not have this because there was no help to get it out of storage! The bride is crying and really, you are not going to get what she wanted? It took a demand to fix this problem and 2 hours later the bride got what she wanted but with a lot of turmoil! The food was very good the night before the wedding and at the wedding. The staff was very nice and the bartenders were also very good. This was a very pretty place but perhaps the management should take a lesson in kindness and hospitality!
