Bidrage med feedbackMy husband I decided to re-visit Q 's after trying out all of the new restaurants in Boulder. After 10 years, Q 's is still doing it right. We started with half price glasses of wine appetizers at the bar then moved to a table for a wonderful meal. We were greeted graciously by the host our meal was started with an amuse sent out by the chef to welcome us to the restaurant. There are many different ways for one to enjoy a meal, three plates for $35, you can order straight off the menu, they have a chef 's choice dinner (I can 't remember how much this was). The price per person is not even close to $100 per person, I would say closer to $30 per person. It is nice to re-visit the restaurants in Boulder who have been around for a long time see that they are still doing it right and continue to keep up with all the newer restaurants in town. I feel like all the old restaurants are ignored by reviewers guests alike. I would highly suggest that everyone re-visit Q 's and see just how good it still is.
Q 's apparently has taken a page from the Boulder book of restaurant service with its inattention to detail in this category. As with most restaurants in Boulder, the expectation is that the clientele is as ;laid back ; as the restaurateur. But with a price point in the neighborhood of $100 per person, they should pay more attention. We arrived for our New Year 's Eve reservation promptly expecting that anything else would be rude and inappropriate on one of the busiest nights of the year. The restaurant was somewhat less concerned with punctuality as they were ;finishing up a meeting ; when we arrived. We were asked to wait outside why we could not be seated was beyond me. At five minutes past our reservation time, we tentatively reentered the restaurant feeling as if we were interrupting their business. (Aren’t the clients the reason for their business?? We were greeted frostily by a hostess who seemed to be completely oblivious as to why we should be remotely irritated by their lack of professionalism. After a “complimentary glass of champagne (part of the $65.00 per person cost of the meal we sat for 25 minutes virtually ignored. A waitress finally showed up someone other than the original woman who waited on us and took our order in one of the rudest manners I 've ever experienced in a fine dining establishment. The manager was very attentive after being apprised of our concerns, but it did but a damper on the evening as a whole. I do have to admit that the food is outstanding though the grilled asparagus with balsamic reduction, gorgonzola, pancetta and morels was wonderful and innovative as were many of the other dishes we enjoyed. The flourless chocolate cake was the best I’ve ever tasted. I do have to recommend the restaurant overall but don 't go to Q 's if you 're expecting to be attended to as you would in almost any other fine dining setting.
