Bidrage med feedbackGood food, big portions for a big price. When I go, I order her wet carne asada burrito. It covers the whole plate. Almost enough for two. Bottom line always worth it.
I initially had my heart set on Birria, but after browsing the menu, I opted for the Wet Burrito instead. It was massive and could easily be split into two meals. The shredded beef was incredibly tender and the dish was full of delicious flavor. Make sure to add extra cheese and a side of guacamole. I also ordered a Carne asada taco on the side, and it was just as tasty as the burrito.
Being a native of Wilmington, California, I have eaten Mexican food all my life. Don Chuy in Bellflower is something special. The flavors and quality of the meals are what keeps me and my family coming back. Recently, a relative from the Pacific Northwest visited and was raving about the Mexican restaurants he missed. When he mentioned older places in the South Bay and Harbor area that we would often go to, I couldn't help but suggest we go to Bellflower. He was surprised at first, but after trying the food, he was blown away. The authentic taste and delicious Abuelita-style meals at Don Chuy's were unmatched. His family and guests had never tasted such delicious Mexican food before. Despite having to drive to San Diego afterwards, they couldn't resist taking a few more bites. I couldn't leave without taking two enchilada plates home for my wife and daughter. Don Chuy's not only satisfies our taste buds but also brings back cherished family memories.
The best menu item in Southern California, delicious fully cooked tender meat, fresh handmade corn tortillas. The wet burritos are incredibly tasty and generously sized. The only thing that could use improvement is the coffee. A café-de-olla would be fantastic, Don Chuy!
Reasonable prices, good food. Small place with not that many tables and from the looks of it it gets packed on Sunday. Very accommodating to special requests.
