Aureate Restaurant - Ballarat

We went to Aureate for a father's day dinner. And we thoroughly enjoyed the service and the meal. It was warm and the views from the window were lovely. We forgot we were in our home town Ballarat. Special thanks to the chef Georgia for the delicious variety of meals. Especially the braised lamb and mash. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all.

We pre booked a 7 course degustation. The retro 70's room had a nice feel even though the restaurant is planned to be renovated and re-positioned to street level. Each course was distinctly different and the seasoning and presentation top notch. The quality and style of food is not to be found anywhere else in Ballarat. Out only complaint was the last dish was served at 11.30 so nearly bed time. That was a 4 hour dining experience but worth it.

As I was staying at Mid City Motel, decided to dine at Restaurant rather than battle weather. So glad I did. Good selection of items on menu. Lamb loin for main was outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Service was 1st class and cheerful and friendly wait staff very helpful with recommendations.
