Bracken Grill - Balbriggan

I ordered just a hot chocolate and cake, also a coffee for my friend. I ordered at 1PM, it came at nearly 2PM. The person did tell us that there would be a long wait, but I didn’t think it would be this long. I was sitting in my chair, starving. After the hour, the girl came with the wrong order of a cheesecake instead of the chocolate cake, so she had to get it again. Another 5 minutes it took. Not complaining, but was waiting for like an hour for something small. The hot chocolate I got was freezing and run down with water! I know it was packed this day, and everyone was ordering, but I ordered before it got busier.

We had a three course meal voucher on a Groupon deal. Initially restaurant looked nice but padded seating ripped and not repaired. Dark wooden tables. We stayed in Feb 2020 and there was only one or two other couples in restaurant. After our second course, main course, we were left for about 20 minutes with being asked for dessert course. When eventually asked we waited another 20 minutes and desert had not arrived. We cancelled the desert as fed up waiting and just as we did this the waitress produced the desert offering it to us. Needless to say we left the restaurant without the desert. Mentioned at check out next morning but didn't make a button of difference to staff.

We spent a week at the Bracken Court and ate breakfast and a few dinners here. One in the dining room and one in the pub. Both meals were good. Service was good and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Came here on arrival at the Bracken Court hotel for a fabulous tasty carvery Sunday roast dinner. Huge portions and the meat was sublime. Think half the town seems to eat here on a Sunday and given the quality of food it is not a surprise.
