Jervois Steak House Saloon - Auckland

Thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner, reservation made for 5:30 PM. Service led the evening with every staff being attentive, informative, and friendly; this included the Chef! Our first dining experience in New Zealand, the waiter encouraged questions, which worked out as we were curious of New Zealand authentic foods and wine. Speaking of wine, I was unfamiliar with some of the white wine NZ wineries, a quick solution presented by our waiter, a tasting!! Fabulous. As for the star of the evening, the Wagyu Scotch fillet was perfectly seared and just the right size as we did not want to overeat. The gnocchi dish was insanely delicious, a smart combination of zucchini, snap peas and other accoutrements. The actual gnocchi were clouds with a light crispy outside omgoodness, a must try if you are gnocchi obsessed like me no dessert as we had other itinerary to get too.
