Jack of the Wood - Asheville

One of the best pubs around the world! Great food and interesting selection. From the fried Dill Pickle appetizers to the Guiness Burger it is all well prepared first quality food. I have to say they have the best potato wedges I've ever eaten!

What a fun this place was! the man and I came for a drink (or 3 and a snack). our bartender was melissa she is excellent! she makes the most amazing drinks (if they like cocosnus around and fruity, she is her gal. I swear she didn't stop a second and also not the guy she worked with. they have constantly refilled drinks and all feel like home. the bar seems somewhat small; I prefer to use the word cozy because people are fantastic and friendly. the band we saw in the evening break was a bluegrass band very funny. they pulled out some great oldies and played some of their own originals. (we didn't go to the back end of the place, so I can't say what was back there. we are planning to visit asheville again. if we do this, jack of the wood is back on our list!

Our bartender was very attentive and funny, we liked him very much. we got the buffalo chickens and they were stubborn. the selection of the beer was not my favorite, but we found some we liked. we enjoyed the live music that happened all day on a Saturday. all in all a really great experience.

Great beer selection with a large local music. I was here in jam night and great to see many local musicians together.

We recently went to jack of the wood on Thursday night and had a great time. A Bluegrass band jammed and there were beautiful people who had a good time to drink beer and listen to the music. we sat in front and let our thoughts of musicians come as well as they come. first I thought they were a practiced band, but it turns out that they were all only local musicians, sitting in and improvising on common repertoire that they do every Thursday night. If you ever want to have a good time in the city of asheville, look at jack of the wood!
