The food is super and made with local ingredients, homemade baking and ice cream is second to none. Be sure to visit and even if your not staying on Lismore the ferry trip from Oban is worth it.
Lovely local food (Lismore ice cream), properly baked potato, local beer, excellent homebaking! Lovely setting too modern and bright!
We crossed to Lismore from Port Appin and walked along the quiet lane, enjoying the scenery, little thinking that we would find a café which we did and it was open even though it was a Sunday! We had just ordered coffee and cakes when the island suffered from a power cut, but the lovely staff carried on as best they could until power was restored about 10 minute later. The service was excellent and the Café has a lovely large decked area for outdoor eating with great views. There is a small gift shop inside the same building with a great selection of locally made items. The Heritage Centre is also well worth a look lots of interesting information about Lismore. It's about an hour's walk to and from the passenger ferry to and from Port Appin and a small car park.
Walked to the cafe from the drop off for the Port Appin ferry. Exceeded exceptions with smart and cheerful cafe in a lovely building. Great soup for lunch. Interesting exhibition about the island.
When you land on Lismore you need to walk a fair way to get to the cafe but there is plenty to do on route and the views are great. The cafe have some fantastic cakes and other goodies. Their coffee was really tasty and they have inside and outside seating. It is a welcome spot to stop after a few miles walking.
