Il Cantuccio - AREZZO

Had the most wonderful welcome in this little gem of a restaurant. The waitress was very attentive and the food was incredible. Steak with porcini mushroom on top and a side of greens that was recommended. Delicious! Biscotti with vino Santo for dessert was just like your Nonna would make. So so good. Thank you for a memorable meal and such kindness to a solo traveler.

Excellent traditional Tuscan cuisine, with specialties from the Arezzo area. Much care is also taken in preparing the side dishes. The “wine of the house” “vino della casa” is definitely good. All in all, I was fully satisfied. Prices are moderate, and this added to my satisfaction. I will eat here again. The restaurant is located right in the city centre, on the corner of Via Roma and Via Madonna del Prato. In high season or on a public holiday it is advisable to book. In good weather, and when the temperature is mild, it is also possible to eat outdoors, on the tables set in the pedestrian and pleasant Via Madonna del Prato. The closing day is Wednesday.

Firstly I must confess I speak no Italian . So having moved away from the tourist places of Florence and Pisa, we have struggled when it comes to reading menus etc. The staff were welcoming and provided a menu in English. Good choice. Sadly the specials on the board couldn’t be translated and seeing some of the wonderful dishes coming out of the kitchen I did feel not speaking Italian we missed out on the better dishes. That said everyone including the kids ate everything on the plate and the food was excellent. The pasta was fresh and the meat dishes were tender. Definitely recommend

Being from Arezzo is the restaurnat I recommend to everyone visiting in order to experience an authentic taste from Arezzo and its traditional cusine.
