In May, Hans concentrated on the young Cabillaud, which was fished in season and near Norway. He served the fish with local asparagus. We started with Carpaccio of tuna, followed by Mediterranean fish soup. Grilled cheese in a pack followed and finally dessert.... As usual, the food was accompanied by local rose and red white ad lib. An aperitif and Amuse Bouches start the evening well and the current price is 37.5 euros per head including drinks. The traditional old room used for food has a large stone fireplace with a closed fire that was always lit on my visits, even in summer!

Hans was a Michelin starred chef in the Netherlands. Now with his wife Tiny they have moved to Provence where they have some gites, offer B&B and run a small friendly restaurant where you have to reserve. 37.50 euros per person buys a 5 course meal with wine and an aperitif. The food is always carefully prepared and uses seasonal regional specialities. You all eat round one large table in the main room of Hans and Tiny's old Provencal house. The meal begins with an enthusiastic welcome in English, French, Dutch or German from Hans and Tiny, and their dogs. After a local aperitif with delicious home made canapes in front of a huge stone fireplace the guests move to the table and enjoy a meal chosen by Hans to showcase the best of the local produce. On our last visit truffles featured. Thoroughly recommended if you want to enjoy well-prepared Provencal food in an informal atmosphere. As Hans and Tiny do all the cooking themselves they need a day or two's warning in order to accept a booking and are limited for space, so plan ahead and be prepared to eat whatever Hans has decided is good on the night - there is no choice and the wine which is included in the price is local.
I've just booked room dinner at La Table de Bonheur for the 4th time.
