Metropolitan Steak Seafood - Amarillo

Passing through Amarillo, we found this gem of a steakhouse. The food and service were outstanding. Great crab cakes! Steak was done to perfection. Caesar salad and spinach salad both delicious. Lovely and cozy setting. The background music was at just the right level to allow normal conversation. We would definitely go again if we travel through town in the future.

Well what a great surprise! This place is a must visit. We were in town to visit the Paloduro Canyon State Park. It's the weekend after Valentine's and I owe my wife for putting up with me. You need reservations! This place is not large and was packed. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer. They were yummy. I do have to add that I probably had the best old fashioned I have ever had! I had a Cesar Salad, my wife the wedge. She really loved the bacon! My wife went with the fillet and I tried the sea bass. All side are family style and I appreciate they have portion sizes for 2 or 4. My wife said this was the best steak she ever had. Better than Perry's or Ruth Chris. My sea bass was piping hot, yet not over done. It had a lemon crust that made the dish. The wait staff was kind and on point. The food came out quickly, the water glasses were always full, and we were checked upon often enough to ensure we were taken care of. I don't often give out 5 stars. They earned it.

Not really great food for the price. service was ok. chair seat height is to low for the tables and is awkward.

I have dined here twice and the menu and service are amazing. The last visit I ordered the charcuterie board and the spaghetti and meatballs. They also have a beautiful cocktail menu. I love stopping here every time I am in town for business. The atmosphere is welcoming. Parking is easy and I have not needed a reservation the two times I have eaten here.

Popped in here for a sneaky cocktail and are so glad we did. Such a gorgeous speakeasy, beautifully decorated and super engaging staff. However, the cocktails here stole the show. We ordered the Corpse Reviver and The Tracy both were amazing, super punchy and very well balanced. Special thank you to Paige and James for looking after us :
