The Royal George - Adur

The George is a little tired but fine if you know what you're getting. The service (Sue) was friendly enough and the atmosphere was pleasant without being lively. I had the traditional carvery meal ... pork, beef and lamb with veg. There was more than enough to eat but I found the meat a little dry ... the lamps in the carvery made the serving spoons very hot to hold, so maybe they could be turned down a little. For the price, my friend and i would return.

Popped in for a pint after work and was served a beautiful pint of Doom Bar for £3.60. Decided to have another one as it was so good and so reasonably priced. The culinary aromas coming from the restaurant downstairs to the bar area assailed my nostrils and after enquiring how much the Carvery was, only £7.99, I was enticed to try it out. There was an easily accessible lift to the lower floor. The restaurant was clean, well presented and with welcoming staff. I chose roast beef. Gammon and Turkey were also available. The roast potatoes and vegetables were what to be expected at this very low price but still enjoyable. The beef was in another realm of its own! It was absolutely beautifully cooked. I would go so far as to say, superb! Two very large, succulent slices, full of flavour and so tender it melted in the mouth! I would rate this as a 5 Star visit, when taking into account the low pricing of both the ale and food on offer. I would also give the Staff the same rating and offer the Chef my thanks for offering such a table of food to his customers. Well done Team Royal George. Highly recommend a visit with this Team in place! Just for the record, I cleaned my plate with a lovely full tummy and a big, happy smile on my face!

Was great had a nice sit down meal until we ordered a cheese pizza with garlic takeaway. , when we got it home it was a wafer thin garlic thing for 4-99! We 100% asked for a pizza not a paper thin whatever it was.

I highly recommend the hot porker pizza. The service was great and the value is amazing. The kids loved the brownie and ice cream.

Once again, the service at this restaurant was excellent. A special shoutout to Chef Alex for preparing a dessert, even though I forgot to order it. He allowed it to arrive with the other dishes while I went up to pay. It was great thinking on his part and ensured that there were no disappointed kids at the table.
