The Pie Shop - Zürich

We happened for a occasional lunch break and by wandering around us hungry for the stands of the markehalle we came across in the pie shop. the first impression was great, presentation and choice really well cared for. also the kind and fast service. to want to find fur in the egg there is only the problem of where to sit to get these exquisite british pies. So delicious, so much so that for dinner I returned by taking 2 more and so I can definitely suggest that chicken with raisins and beef stewed with guinness. the cheesecake also excellent and also to highlight the great choice of English beers and not but all very particular and to try. recommended for a lunch break different from the usual.

I stopped in at The Pie Shop franchise located in the im Viadukt at Markthalle. It's a small vendor selling lots of retail items, bottled beers, and of course their signature baked pies made of fillings from fruit, meat, veggies and more. This is just a TO-GO shop with friendly and helpful staff. I tried the small serving of their Beef and Guinness Pie (8.50CHF) My pie was heated and very quickly thereafter, devoured. The crust was nice, light and flaky, the meat was very tender and the overall taste was delicious. A nice snack option.

Juicy and with plenty of delicious filling! the teig was also super. top and at the edge crispy, at the bottom it picked up the sauce from the filling and was nicely soft. through the handy portion, perfect for eating on the go.

There's not much choice of British food in Zurich. At the Viadukt Markthalle you may find the highest density. The pie's are always fresh and tasty. Take away only but you will find a seat inside the Markthalle

I had a Beef and Guinness pie to take away. There was very little meat in the pie and far too much potato. On the plus side the pastry was nice.
