Wilde Hilde - Zermatt

Just had the half chicken which was very moist and tasty. Very good value for money and freshly off the spit roast.

Two of the 5 nights we were in Zermatt we bought 1/2 chix (about 7.90 CHF) to supplement our cooking in our apartment. Food is very expensive in Zermatt, Switzerland in general. Average pizza or hamburger will cost between 23-31 CHF! This was a great addition to cooking in our room and the chix was moist and very flavorful. A must on a budget!

The cheapest in Zermatt, McD's no match. Honest lady, close on Monday because Sunday no delivery of chicken.

The Smoked Ham Sandwich was wonderful however getting past the owner was difficult she had a list of cheese and meat on a chalkboard we ordered a meat and cheese sandwich we were told we could only have Meat or Cheese not both then we wanted French Fries and she said NO very harshly that fries only come with chicken. We sat down to eat our sandwich and she treated ALL other customers the same so it wasn't like she singled us out my friend that went with me is also from Switzerland so it wasn't like there was a language barrier. Also she ONLY takes cash so don't even ask about credit cards!

Delicious Cheap Chicken and Sandwhiches, a god-send in expensive Zermatt for those traveling on a budget. The owner seems cold at first, but once you start talking, she is warm and welcoming.
