Bidrage med feedbackWe were staying at the hotel and came here for breakfast first morning. It was pretty good but expensive at $42 each. Yet fairly standard for hotels and the remote location means it’s going to be pricy as everything is flown in. Lots of other options for breakfast in the town square you will find once you are here awhile. We went back to dinner the last night and was fabulous. Kangaroo entree, ribs main, wine and cocktails. The staff are super friendly and extra points for the local dessert!
We liked most of the dishes we ordered. Pork ribs were tender; beef brisket was succulent and juicy, chicken wings were sweet and sticky. The exception was the assorted vegetables, which were tasteless and very ordinary. We were expecting prices to be exorbitant, but for some reason it was just the price of the burger that was unreal and we found the rest quite acceptable.
We visited for dinner while staying at Sails in the Desert. They don't take reservations and when we visited there was approximately a 20 minute wait for a table. However, you can get a drink from the bar while you are waiting for your table. I visited in a group with 4 adults and 3 kids and they had a choice of kids meals and variety of mains for adults. The food was prompt and the service friendly. There was a power outage in the resort while we were dining and the staff were helpful and even provided extra nibbles while we waited.
Very friendly staff and great environment! Make sure to book in advance, because they can be quite busy. The menu has some very good options, especially if you want to try Aboriginal flavors.
We had a quick bite to eat at Mangato Bistro and Bar before heading out to Field of lights. Frank the waiter was polite, friendly and professional. Beautiful bar and bistro with an intimate feeling. Food service was also quick and the coconut and chill prawns were delicious.
