Bidrage med feedbackSchnitzel is sizable tasty. Melanie, our waitress, so sweet and friendly as is the rest of the staff at thebfrint of the house. The apple fritters are a must have, we made room for it despite being full. Will be back.Parking: There's parking at the back of the restaurant, entrance on south end.
Very nice place if you are looking for places serving fresh, tasty food and has a nice atmosphere.
80+ dollars for such a dissatisfying meal. For a place that’s apparently been specializing in game meats for over 40 years… I am very disappointed. No Bison for the bison steak ? I tried the Venison; they gave me 3 tiny pieces of tough beef… the potato side was nice. But they only give you 2… the cabbage was literally the star of the plate, which is sad considering it should usually be the protein that shines. All in all the food was poor, although the server was very friendly. Shout out to the server, and teach your cooks to make an alcohol sauce. It was more alcohol than sauce… and it was made with wine ? ?? I think I walked out with a slight buzz
Love this place. The moment I stepped inside, it brought back great memories from my trip to Vienna many years ago. This place is a real gem and you can’t find such charming place in Markham any more. We had the Old Country Inn Schnitzel (which is breaded pork cutlet topped with brown sauce and mushrooms). The cutlet was moist and the sauce was delicious. After a satisfying meal, our lovely waitress recommended the apple fritters for dessert. So glad we took her advice and ordered it. It was crunchy outside with a soft warm apple center. The vanilla sauce served with it was just to die for. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. This place really brought smile to my face. We will come back next time to try other dishes.
My wife and I have dined here several times now and plan to return many more times. We have recommended the Old Country Inn to colleagues, friends and family. The owner George is a genuinely friendly and welcoming gentleman. The ladies, Barbara and Melanie, who have brought our orders are knowledgeable and efficient, and very friendly. The food is a delight. The schnitzel reminded us of back home in Europe. The beef dishes are extraordinary, the soups are like Grandmother’s (Oma’s in German), the dumplings are delicious, the dessert pastry selection is wonderful and the wine selection is very good.We cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.Parking: If it is busy in Unionville and the restaurant is busy one has to a little longer to find parking.
