I had a terrible experience at this restaurant today. None of the dishes we ordered tasted fresh and it seemed like they had been sitting out for a while. Overall, the food did not taste good at all.
My party of 5 went to this restaurant for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean and fresh, having just recently opened, and the wait staff was very pleasant.
We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner as part of our package at the Briars. Dinner was a three course bit of heaven! We loved everything that we had including the caesar salad, mushroom bisque, chicken vegetable soup, hummus, halibut, pan-seared shrimp pasta and beef tenderloin medallions. The food was served at its appropriate temperature and with excellent flavor. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and meet our culinary needs. As it was a quieter time for the property, the dining room was closed and we had our meals in Drinkwater's Lounge with a nice view of the lake. We really enjoyed our visit!
Drove up to the Briars in Jacksons Point looking for a country inn vibe for a nice lunch. We found it at the Drinkwater Lounge. The pear kale and walnut salad was very good, even though the greens were really baby spinach. The minestrone soup was home made and hot. Linen tablecloths and real silverware- and pleasant service made this a nice treat on a grey winters day. The only drawback was $11 for a small glass of wine. Would definitely go again! Nice view of the lake too.
