Bidrage med feedbackFirst time visit, purchased lunch cost around £8, upon leaving notice sign for meal deal, shame member of staff didn’t tell me that if I had added a bottle of water to my order it would have been free and my total bill would have been £6. Catching the train so no time to return to query
We were visiting from US. These meat pies are tremendous. When we visit York this will be a regular stop. They are a meal unto themselves and heat up in the microwave without noticeable loss of quality.
Staff were friendly and served with a smile (always a plus). Unfortunately the pastie was lacking in taste and any sort of heat. A bit disappointing really! It was nice to see one of the servers clear the tables from previous customers but it would have been even better if they could have been bothered to wipe the table as well?! All the tables were scattered with crumbs and coffee cup stains which made the place feel a little shabby. I would also like to add as a side that upon reading a review posted six days before this about the wall seating/table... There was someone there while I had my pastie and coffee fixing said area. Very impressive that the company acted so quickly to a customer comment both in the comments and actions that they have taken. This is something to be applauded and I have added an extra star just for this reason.
Hi my visit to the York station store/cafe was as per usual very nice. The coffee and bacon roll very tasty and hot. I do find a small item of concern isa seated area along the wall which should be fastened to the wall could be very dangerous as it’s swaying about with hot drinks etc on it and some one could get burnt. I see that a not us on this bench saying be careful but children don’t always read do they.
I see other reviews talk of great bacon roll, I must be living in a parallel universe: the first one I was served was a plain hard white cob with what looked like 2 prices of bacon rolled up tightly that were hard and over cooked. When I took it back I was given another that was put in the oven for about 10secs to be warmed up and was equally awful. Very hard, dry and difficult to chew. How hard can it be to make a decent bacon sandwich for national chain. Maybe the management should conduct a visit and eat one for themselves...
