Bidrage med feedbackEat nice, but nothing I couldn't make home.... Presentation was easy. like a wetherspoons. also not much menu choice. coviding situation makes everything unpleasant, so would be nice if location, including this place could customers feel comfortable and not approach them as if they were at the wrong place. about everything was quiet and relaxing, but for the £150 spent for eating and drinking in 2.5 hours, I would like to go away feeling happier. I know the times are difficult, so that took off.
We thought we were going to the ivy brasserie in the middle of york, somewhat confusing to have 2 restaurants with the same name in a city. this restaurant is located in the cellar of the grange hotel, service not as well as limited staff on the service. £15,95 felt a bit steep for laughs and eggs. If they want to have a 3-course breakfast of toast, müsli, yogurt and a full English etc, then probably becomes a kind of worth.
For a meal during the day there was a restricted menu, but still a decent choice, with interesting options. service was brilliant and I really felt looked around. starter was absolutely delicious, anyway ok went for the veggie option a souffle, but as a complete dish it doesn't work completely, but still not bad. dessert was beautiful. everything was well presented, really fresh, decent portions. almost embarrassing what the meal cost so leave a decent tip! would definitely recommend.
Thought we'd try this out after finding The Ivy not having tables available when we wanted. I was drawn by the cozy brick enclave in the photo's but sadly disappointed to be seated outside said enclaves, and by the external door; which I thought was locked. Sadly the door was not locked and another party slowly made its way into the restaurant during our meal, bringing in a frosty winter chill (storm Dennis) while the door was open. Service could have been a lot better; after nobody checked if our entrees were OK, we literally had to flag down a member of the wait staff to return one dish, requesting that the fish be cooked through. I wouldn't say we won't go back to The Ivy Brasserie, but if we're spending over £90 on dinner for two, it wouldn't be our first choice.
Just perfect. Excellent service and fantastic food.
