The Habit Cafe - York

Had an amazing afternoon in this beautiful scenic bar. So friendly staff. Andy was on the bar and was made to feel so welcome, then he should appear, but John, a voluntary and older gentleman helped me and helped me finish his crossword puzzle. When the shift was finished, they fortunately handed over the staff of the evening, Harry and Molly, who were as friendly, friendly and polite. Live music then continued and was amazing. I could not recommend place high enough if you want good old fashion service, then this is the bar for you

Some pints and some food. Ordered the falafel salad and it was delicious. Fun atmosphere too. The bartender was the only one working and doing a great job, being friendly and taking care of everyone. Great little place.

Dach terrace with views of the cathedrale. beautiful seating in the upper floor. does not look much when they look into the door, but below is the live music and bar area. you can find a seat before ordering

I love this place. Its angles, and steps and nooks and reflections all of it. It's a memory of a place and a time I'm glad that I remember and I'm glad existed. A time when towns had quirky bars like this that were both friendly and yet magically allowed you to feel anonymous at the same time. When food and beer were just that and didn't have to have extra, fashionable adjectives attached. A lovely place with all manner of seating for all manner folks in the cafe bar vibe downstairs and the more relaxed eating or party feel upstairs (depending on the time of day). They even have a roof terrace. I wish this was my local. I wish more corners held beautiful nuggets like this. Definite hoopy froods. Plus, they were so nice to my better 3 4ths who didn't fancy anything of the Christmasy menu and jut made her a butty, which totally made her day!
