Tesco - York

Tesco if you are reading this please offer options for people with Coeliac/gluten intolerant. This is not a choice like being vegan it is a serious health condition. Offering a jacket potato is not good enough in this day and age. Offer soup and a gf roll or a gf sandwich. Really disappointed.

The food is expansive and not that good (specially the crispy chicken burger, which is often served cremated I suspect they fry it over and over again) but as the ambiance is nice, I kept going for lunch and ordering breakfast, which is not too bad. Marcus, (who I believe to be the manager) was nice only once, when he needed us to give a good review on a survey (which we did, but later regretted). Now there is an older waitress who thinks she can treat customers like sh*t. I have always tried to ignore her rudeness because I like the place but today I had enough when I saw her being extremely rude to some very polite customers next table just because they were from the College. The way they are treating customers is truly disgusting and I’m not coming back.

Can't fault it. Always great whenever we go, great coffee, excellent choice of menu and great value for money.

Visited this cafe today with my mum and the food exceeded all my expectations! We both had the scampi and chips and there was loads of scampi, a dish of chips (not too many, not too few) and a fair sized blob of mushy peas. The food was so hot and fresh you had to give it a couple of minutes to cool! Quality was great- just as good as any bar meal and a fraction of the price. Nice surroundings and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Decided to take my two young children for a mid morning snack of a bacon bap and a cuppa for myself. The staff very friendly and helpful. However as we were shown our table the waitress was approaching with our bacon baps that I’d ordered last than 5 minutes ago. We still had our coats on and I was placing my youngest into the high chair. Once we were comfortably sat the chairs very tatty worn) and tried the baps they were cold , fatty and served in a cheap white bap. Very disappointed! Then 10 minutes later my cuppa arrived. Not the experience I had hoped . The tables were clean and I saw plenty of staff cleaning and clearing tables . Had quite a lot of customers too which gave a nice atmosphere just a shame about the food.
