Lal Quila - York

Where do I start, we booked in advance for my dad's 80th for 11 people including 3 children, from the moment we walked in they could not do enough for us, the restaurant was full, lovely atmosphere, the service was fantastic, the food was excellent and all meals came out together piping hot, my dad got his main and desert complimentary for his birthday, which was a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend to everyone, thank you La Quila you made dad's birthday extra special xx

First visit but certainly not the last! Lovely restaurant, food and lively staff. Really Naseby ti feel welcome and very reasonably priced.

We had a delivery to Rowntree CAMC site, the order online was easy and the delivery driver called when arrived at site, the food was hot and very tasty would recommend also given a discount which we didn’t expect at all,

After a very traumatic weekend, we decided to order a takeaway. We have used this restaurant several times before, and it has always been reliable. However, yesterday was very different. An hour and a half after placing our order, my wife rang to ask where the food was? we were assured that it was on its way. 30 minutes later, still no food. My wife rang again. Again, she was assured it would be with us imminently. Shortly after that, still no delivery. My wife rang again. This time she was put through to someone in the kitchen, who told her that the food was there and had been on the side for Over an hour. I heard my wife make the call and it was completely specific that we were ordering for delivery. In fact, she was told that it would take longer than if we were to collect it as a result. The person to whom she spoke in the kitchen was incredibly rude and basically told her that they were very busy and she should come and collect. What would undoubtedly have beencold food herself. This place has always been quite reliable but appears to become complacent. Appalling service and the rudeness and lack of apology was particularly outrageous. There are plenty of other places in York to order Indian takeaways. Avoid this one.

Only had takeaway as we were living locally whilst on holiday. It did what it said on the tin, nice enough food, sadly overpowered by the taste of ghee but otherwise a pleasant curry from a local restaurant without any bells and whistles. Would most certainly call on again whilst in the area.
