Bidrage med feedbackI visited during the end of autumn when the weather was nice. The cuisine is mainly focused on ayu, but if you're not a fan of ayu, you can also change it to meat. The food was great, but the highlight is the stunning view. The hostess was very kind and friendly. I also made new friends here, thanks to Kyotei-san, it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much!
I want to introduce this to foreigners as the epitome of a traditional Japanese ryokan, nestled in the mountains of Chichibu with the Arakawa River in front. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the Taisho era. You can choose to be guided to a tatami room or a Western-style room with a reservation. From appetizers to ayu rice cooked in a pot, the ayu sashimi even tasted delicious with wasabi. I could leisurely enjoy listening to the chirping of birds and the sound of the wind passing through. The portion of the rice cooked in a pot was generous, enough to take home. It was a ryokan that satisfied both the stomach and the heart.
I enjoyed a feast of sweetfish. The sashimi had a firm texture and as I chewed, I could taste the scent of sweetfish passing through my throat. The accommodation allows for only two groups, so you can enjoy a quiet time. There is no TV in the room, but there is a TV in a separate room for dessert and breakfast. The bath is a charming cypress bath, but the toilet is modern and comfortable. I heard that after sweetfish season, they serve catfish sashimi, so I hope to visit again around that time.
