Lake Lodge - Yellowstone National Park

Like all the others, the cabins were elevated for what they were. cabins were primitiv and small, but comfortable. the food was a buffet and definitiw not worth the $20.00 every price day for lunch. the food was subpar and the warm food was not even warm. but for us we have booked the place to stay in the park and for the soul lodge itself. at the rental of the hut in the lake lodge we rented there because it talked about the veranda with the swing chairs and the view of the yellowstone lake. the prospects were stunning, but we went along with most people during most if not all day yellowstone park and back into the cabin and the lake lodge veranda around 17 clock or so, to this lookout and rocking chairs. but the employee Recreation/Gym center is just out of the front veranda area. the coworkers played loud music and shouted and spoke loudly throughout the evening, who ruined the sunset and the evening view for all guests! in the first night I asked the reception person how long it would take, and if she could tell them that she calmed down what did not happen. my man went in the first night and told them that they were sitting on the veranda, thanked him, although it did not help. they promote the beautiful veranda of the lake lodge as calm, calm and peaceful, but due to the workers who do not happen. why the recovery center was placed so close to the hospitable experience is not a good idea. next time I would book outside the park to have more pleasant and rest.

We loved it here! Our cabin was so cute, it was much bigger than we anticipated. We saw elk everywhere. The only issue was the food situation. Due to it being towards the end of the season, plus being really understaffed, your only option was to eat at the hotel, and it was always buffet. It got really expensive, and if you got there too late, and I'm talking like 5:30, there could be up to an hour and a half wait. I know they were doing what they could with what they had to work with, but it was still frustrating. We did love our cabin a lot though.

Nice place to stay near Yellowstone Lake. Room seemed to be up to date. Wildlife (elk) right outside your door. Tried to eat at the lake lodge restaurant but it was a long wait and we didn't want to be in a large crowd anyway. This is our second stay and we would stay there again.

Small Frontier cabin with 2 beds. Clean and comfortable. Best of all it was quiet, no road noise, just heard a male Elk calling to attract female Elk nearby. Significantly cleaner cabin than the Old Faithful Snow Lodge cabin I stayed in earlier same week. Frontier cabin less expensive than Western style cabins, but my Frontier cabin needed another chair or at least a bench to set my bags upon. Sheets felt stiff but were clean. Tabletop fan was provided although tabletop space was so limited, I left it on floor. The heater unit worked well. Windows on both sides of cabin allowed for flow-through air and sunlight which was nice. Plenty of parking directly in front of cabin. A bit of a long walk to Lodge building so I drove down there when I wanted to. I would stay here again but earlier in season so boating and restaurants would be open for business.

My sister and I stayed at the Lake Lodge Cabins for 4 nights while visiting Yellowstone. The cabins are remote and mostly quiet. We heard the people next door on our last night which was kind of annoying. The beds were comfortable and clean. The shower and toilet were also clean. The floor was dirty under the beds and I found cheerios on the floor. The heater was definitely unpleasant. It was either on or off, no in-between. We would wake up multiple times during the night to turn it on and off. I agree w/ the other reviewers regarding Xanterra. The price of the cabins is very high for what you get. There is no room service (you get a $5 per night credit), no microwave, or refrigerator. The food is the biggest issue. We ate at the Lake Lodge Hotel the 1st night b/c there was no where else to eat. It was an unappealing buffet for $30 per person (no soft drinks, coffee, tea, etc included) that should have been no more than $15 tops. I understand the food supply chain is limited right now but don't overcharge your guests and make them feel they are being completely ripped off. It's price gouging. The breakfast buffet was just as bad. $15 for a buffet w/ coffee NOT included that should have been $9.99. The wait times were also ridiculous. We waited 1-2 hrs and then walked into the large dining room that was more than 1/2 empty. COVID is no excuse for this as many more guests could have been accommodated and still socially distanced. Lack of staff is also no excuse b/c it's a buffet!!! We brought food w/ us for lunch and snacks but you can't eat that for every meal. Xanterra is exploiting customers and it's unfortunate they are running the lodges and restaurants in the park. Also, the older staff was much more helpful and friendly than some of the younger staff. The girls at the desk for the restaurant check in seemed very indifferent. The setting of the hotel and cabins is beautiful overlooking Yellowstone Lake w/ lots of Elk roaming around.
