Sauces were flavorful but gentle. Food was hot and totally good. I should have not driven by because nobody seems to be in parking lot. Family owned and nicely set up. Food is well worth it. Make this a lunch or dinner any time you need Chinese food.
Oh, Ding Ho.....if you've lived in Yakima long, you've driven by here! Honestly, I always assumed the worst about this place. The parking lot always has a few cars in it...and it's been here for a long time, so I finally decided to check it out with my mom for lunch. As we walked in, we were greeted and promptly seated. The parking lot was pretty full and about half of the building was full. We decided to go with the buffet. There was some rice, chow mein, chicken (orange and almond sauce), some sort of pork and veggies, and egg drop soup. The soup and chicken were solid. Chow mein was ok, and we both weren't big fans of the pork. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but I've paid a lot more for worse meals. In my opinion, it's an ok option for lunch due to the good buffet price!
The Ding-Ho has become an iconic outlet for fairly decent Chinese fare in Yakima Washington. My family has been dining here since its inception. It is under fairly new ownership and continues to offer good Chinese food at a great price. Great entrees, and combination plates. Make sure to get an order (or two) of their BBQ pork! Dip it in a little hot mustard and enjoy. If you do not have time to dine in, get Ding Ho to go! Located near the Yakima Air Terminal at the corner of Washington and South 16th Avenue. Don't let the outdated exterior and location fool you. Come in and enjoy dinner and a drink at Yakima's best Chinese restaurant!
Was a little skeptical about trying this place. Looks a little old and run down and I never see a crowd there, but after reading some reviews decided to give it a shot. We ordered take out. The service was very pleasant. Generals chicken wasn't spicy at all, good for me but my husband would have liked it spicier. sesame chicken was good too, but had an undertaste like it may have too much sodium. I usually see egg drop soup served with little won ton strips at most places I've been to, but we didn't get anything like that with our order of egg flower soup here. We still liked it. Chicken did have alot of breading but for me is all about the sauce and I enjoyed it just great. We will be going back, Maybe soon for the lunch buffet to try more items!
Ding Ho has become one of our favorite restaurants in town. It has a very warming atmosphere with great food! It really surprised me how great everything was for the low price. The service has always been amazing.
